“I am speechless. This is the best thing that ever happened to me” Young goalkeeper Niki Mihailov said as he was asked about his recent signing with Liverpool.  Mihailov signed for 3 years with an option for another two.

He will be the third goalie behind the Great Reina and Scott Carson, according to goalkeeper coach Jose Ochotorena. Mihailov is the first Bulgarian player ever to join the Anfield squad.

This week one of my goalies asked me if we could work on her (hand) distribution some more. After watching this video, I think I will....

McGregor (25) fended off competition from French goalie Lionel Letizi last season only to find that the Rangers signed former Manchester United and West Ham goalkeeper Roy Carroll last week. Graeme Smith, who was acquired from Kilmarnock only last month, seems to be pushed into the 3^rd goalie position after the arrival of the Northern Ireland International at Ibrox.

West Ham United signed 29-year old Richard Wright this week on a free transfer from Everton. Wright, who collected to caps for the England squad, made 22 appearances for the Gunners before moving to Everton. 

Hammers’ Manager Alan Curbishley's is excited about his latest acquisition, although Wright (plagued by injuries) only played two games for Everton last season. Before last season he played 69 games for the Toffees.

Blackburn Rovers signed Faroe Islands Under-21 goalie Gunnar Nielsen on a two year contract this week. He was acquired from Danish club BK Frem Copenhagen for what was named a “small fee”. Nielsen impressed the Blackburn staff during a trial he had with the club in May. “I am very pleased, it is a massive opportunity for me just to develop in the best league in the world," Nielsen said. "I'm glad that Mark Hughes and his staff believe in me and I won't let them down." What does this mean for Brad Friedel? Will this mean he has serious competition for his starting spot?
