Espanyol and Athletic de Bilbao are trading goalkeepers. Bilbao’s goalkeeper Inaki Lafuente is being sent to RCD Espanyol on loan for one season. Gorka Iraizoz, Espanyol’s keeper, has been sold to Athletic de Bilbao. Lafuente, who played 11 regular season games for Los Leones this past season, signed a 4 year deal with the club from Barcelona.

Iraizoz only played 2 regular season games for Los Pericos this past season but he did play all UEFA Cup matches including the final. “The club (Espanyol) has given me a great career and I will always be grateful for that” Iraizoz said. “They gave me the chance to play to play in the Primera Division, I was part of winning the Copa del Rey and although a little sad, I also played a UEFA Cup final.”
