Despite having Kasper Schmeichel, Andreas Isakson and Joe Hart, City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is still looking to strengthen his goalkeeping department. Lebanon-born Swedish goalkeeper Abbas Hassan has spent time on trial with City and now the ‘other’ Manchester club has made a formal offer of approximately $400.000,00 to Hassan’s club Elfsborg. However, this offer has been turned down and the Swedes are awaiting an improved offer. “We have given a no to their offer,” Elfsborg’s sporting director Stefan Andreasson said. “I don’t want to comment on a price but we have said no to City’s offer. We are not warning them off our goalkeeper – it is completely up to them whether they change their offer.”
