American Goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann, whom we reported was struggling with his confidence as of late, did not get the confidence boost he had hoped for this weekend. Au contraire, when his team Reading played Portsmouth this past weekend he had to fish the ball out of the net a record 7 times. “I went over all the goals again in my head and I am really embarrassed”, the 3 time US MNT goalkeeper says. “If your opponent scores 7 goals, then as a keeper you can only admit you made mistakes. I feel like I let my team down. I am surrounded by incredible defenders so I have no excuse. Of course I made some good saves, but that doesn’t change the final score.”
